"shed some light on my situation?"

2 weeks ago i had 3 wisdom teeth and my left molar extracted. The day after surgery i was fine. On day 3 my wife took me to the er bc my lymph node on the lft side of my neck wa swollen and my lips were numb and turning purple. They gave me an antibiotic. I took it and from that moment i started having panic attacks as the left side of mybody felt odd. Well feeling came back 2 my lips and lymph nodes went down but then i started having a pins and needles feeling in my jaw and cheek. Sometimes it feels like burning. Im also having some burning on one part of my mouth as well as dry mouth and chapped lips. Wife took me to er again and they said to stop the antibiotic. so now 2 wks later i have a wierd sensation in my lft cheek that turns into pins and needles. This is especially true if i touch it a bit or ti comes into contact w the shower. I also have some stinging on my toungue. Anyone know what this is? is it going 2 get better instead of worse? Could i have tn?or does it sound more like nerve damage. Any help w this is appreciated. Im 27 and a therapeutic foster parent 4 kids who need me 2 b ok

Sounds like nerve damage to me This kind of nerve damage is alot like tn.. only it happens from dental procedures.. Hard to say if it will get better or worse.. time will tell.. Have you been back to the dentist?

i went to the os twice. They tried 2 put me on strong antibiotics but i waited until i saw my doc. She said no infection but the nerve is irritated or damaged. She says it shouldn't get worse but i dont know. I feel like I'm going nuts though

You may want to get a second opinion from another OS.. This may help you somewhat.. http://www.sciential.net/dcforum/DCForumID1/754.html

It might even help the OS that did this to you?? If you choose to show it... With your horrible experience so far, maybe showing it will get their attention better? There is a treatment info page here if its bad enough you need drugs.. You will have to get them from a GP.. If you think you might need a lawyer? you may find that here to... Hopefully you heal quick and wont have to resort to the above things

Thanks for your help. I appreciate knowing others out there have gone through this. I don't want to sue the OS because i really don't think he did anything negligent. He is a very nice guy. I think this is just something that happened and it really sucks. I was getting really depressed and scared this could get worse. My wife just told me to chill out. She's decided to quit her job and stay at home with me to help take care of our therapeutic foster kids (we get paid well for doing this) so she will be around. Also, We are going on an unplanned trip to vegas in the morning for 3 days just to let of steam. I'm going to try some of the treatments listed there. I think topical stuff might help if the burning picks up. I'm hoping it just goes away...
