"60 yrs old............Need Help"

Hi! My name is Linda and I'm 60 yrs old. Due to side effects from medications I take, all my teeth are either missing, broken off or severely decayed and I want them out. I take the medications for emotional problems, so you can imagine what this has done to me self esteem. I can't live with this anymore.

My dentist sent me to an OS for a consultation because 2 of my teeth are going to be difficult extractions.
The OS strongly advised me to try and save these two teeth. Their roots are extremely long and he says there's a good chance of nerve damage if he removes them. Especially at my age.

I lost my dental insurance after I retired, so I had to borrow over $6000 from my elderly mother. (She doesn't expect me to be able to pay it all back.) This may or may not cover all the extractions along with dentures. The OS suggests keeping my 6 front bottom teeth (which are crooked & severely discolored) paying to whiten them up, trying to save the 2 deep rooted teeth and having partials put in. Now, if this doesn't work, where will I come up with the money to have them pulled and bottom dentures put in? And wouldn't trying to save them also possibly cause nerve damage?

After reading many posts here, I am so depressed & scared. I WANT ALL THESE TEETH GONE! I've come here looking for advice & understanding.

Thank you all so much.
Linda

I don't know if your case may be too complex but if you live near a dental school, you may want to contact them to see if they can do the work cheaper.

I would really think hard and do some research before having those deep rooted teeth removed. The last thing you need is even more meds (and other problems) because of nerve damage.

Good Luck...
