"TENS Stimulation"

LAST EDITED ON Apr-21-08 AT 03:51 PM (CST)

Hello,

I have recently tried TENS (transcutaneous electrical stimulation) stimulation, using 4 electrodes attached to the area of the jaw. Caution must be used to avoid impacting vagus nerve as it might effect the heart.

It appears that constant firing of low electrical impulse cause nerves to temporary exhaust themselves. I believe this is based on the Gate Theory of pain.

I'm glad to hear this has helped you, Edgaras. I know someone once posted trying this with resulting increases in pain, so - like most treatments and medications - this seems to be an "at your own risk" option.

Yes, it was strange, I could feel the pathways where the pain is being run by electricity if I put on on wrong place. So positioning appears to be very important and professional advice would be best.
