"Numb Feeling in Tounge, Jaw, Lip"

Your diagnosis and or treatment would be appreciated, thanks.

Many diseases are silent killers and I hope thats what I dont have.
I am 37 years and just started having this strange numbness type feeling about a week ago in my mouth, after eatting a sandwhich with jalapenos, I thought that was the cause, i'm still not sure, its just strange that only half my mouth is numb, only on one side of my face, jaw, lip and tounge are numb, I have been doing research and am looking into Hypocalcemia, which is low levals of calcium in the blood but am trying to figure out why it would just start up after eatting a sandwhich a week ago, thats strange. I dont have the insurance or money to see a doctor everytime I have a symptom I cant explain. I sure hope its not early signs of {MS}, Rheumatoid Arthritas, or of Lyme Disease. please help.

If your symptoms persist, you had better see an MD. I don't mean to scare you but you are at an age where MS is fequently diagnosed.

I live out in the country in a sleeping bag next to the lake, in a tent. I eat only fish with jalepenos for food and like I was saying I dont have medical insurance, I was hoping more for help by means of telling me which tablet or which ointment to take, so I can research it myself and cure myself without a doctors opnion. I mean come on man this is the internet, the ultimate research database, I mean what is a doctor really?, Somone who has famarlized himself with medicine, someone who like me, he/she will have to research the same diagnosis for an answer and then a cure before administering it, thats what I'm researching, lol.....thanks but sorry dr b and jack i apreciate the advice.

I live in an area that if your planning on being outside in direct sunlight for longer than 15 minutes stright.
You'd better be wearing sunblock. Thats what I believe happned to me...The sun is a killer, to much of it
without protection will causes health problems......and thats what I believe happned to me, now the facial
nerve is damaged and probably only with surgery repairable.......one has to think to himself, is it really worth
spending money you dont have fixing problems that dont threaten your life?

I am not against alternative medicine, and maybe someone is versed in it, but I am not sure there are very many "diagnostic alternatives" such as a diagnostic for MS. In addition, some of the stuff on the internet is bogus as it is totally unregulated.

There are many good new meds to control MS and some other neuro problems, but one needs to catch them early and get an accurate diagnosis early.

   To Sam:
Where do you live? We just moved from Chicago to AZ and personally I love the sun, the lack of it in IL was making me run down all winter every year. I agee sun block is a must however.

Dr. B I just dont feel I have any of the symptoms of MS, like Gait problems, Waddling gait, Falls, Difficulty standing up. Difficulting climbing stairs, Difficulty descending stairs, Lordosis, Firm-looking muscles, Enlarged muscles, Enlarged calf muscles..........I dont have any of those symptoms, I do however have over 3 of the symptoms of Hypoclacemia, such as Tongue paresthesias, Paresthesias of face and lip, and Muscle Aches. So thats what I'm going for.......I've looked into different Los Angles Free Clinic Services, and I am still in the process of trying to get seen by a doctor without actually paying any money....There is one hospital, USC Medical something or other that a doctor will see you if you wait about 10 hours, thats the one I am going for.

Glad you are seeing someone. Often MS does not show the symptoms you listed until later stages. Hopefully you will be diagnosed with something benign and easy to treat. Let us know.
