"BURNING MOUTH"

Hello this is Susan from Minnesota ,St.Paul to be more exact, I have just read for the dozen'th time , entries from people with bms ,,, I have been sufferring incredible pain since Nov. 14,2007 , I was told I needed four top front teeth crowns #7,#8,#9.#10 or my teeth were going to crumble and break so I was told by the dentist I had been seeing for 20 months.I was new to his dentistry outside St.Paul, I had the same dentist for 35 years until moving , I am so angry with myself for being trusting of this dentist , he had just talked me into several ceric crowns in the previous 14 months ,,, he is called the gentle dentistry of 34 years ,,, this grinding of my four front teeth is the most horrible thing I have ever gone through ,, the novacaine was not numbing my mouth even close to no pain ,,, I was crying so much when I left after 4 hours ,, I could not stop , I felt as I had been kicked in the mouth ,I have been crying ever since , and I am not at all a cry baby,I am a very strong person , mother.wife ,four grown children , seven grandchildren , and a business owner ,I have since last Dec. 07 seen 13 other dental specialists ,and my ten year medical Dr. and have now switched to a new women medical Dr. and I have seen a neurologist three times , I am now at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester ,Mn undergoing dental material testing with a dermatologist ,and blood tests , all have come back no blood problems, Tommorrow, Tues, Oct. 14th I will get my results.To date I have spent all my savings of $24.000.00 so far trying to get an answer to what is ruining every day of my life ,almost one year now ,I have no medical insurance, Horrible burning and pain in my upper gums , roof of my mouth next to the new crowns ,and my upper inside of my lips, I even paid a second dentist last April 1st 08 to redo the crowns , because they were so large and thick , I thought that would be the cure , not any change in all the awful burning and pain ,that second dentist decided to put metal on the backsides of the crowns instead of the insides of the crowns like the other dentist , Now from the time those second crowns went in with metal on the backs , my tongue immedietly started burning, touching the metal ,, I have so so many detals of this 12 month nightmare , it would take pages of this website to write them all I am humanly so hurt and dissappointed in the dental/medical profession for the way I have been treated all along the way ,I have been denied by three attorneys to try to get my money and medical bills paid by the orignal dentist who caused this nightmare.A women attorney told me it is almost impossible to sue a dentist or a Dr, because there is a hush hush , in the profession, you need one to testify malpractice against another , which they will not do , also a judge will throw most cases out because most cases are bad results ,not bad medicine , I"ve tried so hard to find help, and now I am giving up , the law protects the professions, the dentist who did this to me , deny's all responsibilities to me , like it is in my head ,,, Again I am, heart sick to look back at the way the dentists treated me and all those other medical DR.s who really did not care either ,, I take 1000 mgs. of gabapentin , not much help at all .Prescription lidocaine mouthwash, three times a day ,So far I am refuseing the amitriptyline antidepressant therapy , I will write more again, my space is running out , My prayers are for all of us suffering like this ,,, Susan from St. Paul MN susan |
